About

About Your Acupuncturist

Dr. Tracy Scott

My first experience with acupuncture was when I had foot pain.  I was a candidate for surgery or a series of painful cortisone shots every few months. I decided to give acupuncture a try.  Eight sessions later, I have been pain free for over 10 years. As a retired Navy Chief, I look for results, not excuses. Results came with acupuncture and piqued my interest. I studied three years as an apprentice and then moved to Austin, TX to attend formal education at AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine. 3.5 years and 4,000 hours of training in Foundations, Point Location and Energetics, Biomedicine and Herbology awarded me a Master’s degree.  I had the privilege of studying in Chengdu, China at the TCM hospital in 2018.   I continued my education at Pacific College of Health & Sciences, San Diego and earned the Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.  I continue to seek out the best teachers and be the best practitioner for my patients.

The spiritual meaning behind the word Harvest is “God’s provision to me so that I may be a blessing to others.”  That is the essence of Harvest Acupuncture.  Being a blessing to others so that they can harvest what they need most:  Health, Peace, Wellness…It is a privilege to partner with you on your journey to whatever you want to harvest.

 My Philosophy

The body is fearfully and wonderfully made.  It wants to be well.  If given the right resources, it can and will heal.  Energy is a big component of healing.  In TCM, the motive force of energy that moves blood along is called Qi (Chee).  If you want to look at it scientifically, you could think in terms of electrons which constantly move and shift and change throughout our body.  When the body loses Qi a deficiency is created.  If the body gets too much Qi, an excess is created.  Acupuncture and Herbology is simply the art and science of adjusting that energy so that the body returns to a state of balance.

Your first visit to Harvest Acupuncture will usually be 45 minutes to 1 hour.  I will do physical assessments as needed, discuss your symptoms with you, answer your questions, give you a basic treatment plan and perform an acupuncture session.  Follow up sessions are usually 30-45 minutes in length.

At Harvest Acupuncture, you are not alone on the journey to wellness, you are part of a wellness team.
